Monty Dan to release new movie
I've just checked Monty's Dan site and it looks as though he is planning to release a new movie.
"This movie is a million miles away from my recent Fictional Story type movies that are built up from a story board with a script and voice actors, this is more of a Documentry type movie that is a personal tribute to the Battle of Britain and was a permanent work in progress."
There is a trailer along with a streaming version hosted on Vimeo... ...well what are you waiting for.
Faith Hope and Charity wins at OMFF 2008
The title says it all but it has been a great month for Flight Sim Movies. Faith, Hope and Charity from Wingmen Productions has walked away the Best Film award. Visit Flight Sim Movies for more information and links to OMFF.

Welcome to IL2MDB
This is your IL2 internet movie database. You will find a huge collection of home made IL2 movies to view and enjoy. The database entries range from the early days of IL2 movie making to the more recently machinima nominated movies made by MontyDan and Wingmen Productions.
This site is for you and your IL2 movies. Just head on over to the Submit Movie page and complete the form and I will do the rest. It may be likely that I have already added your movie to the database. If that is the case then please use the search to find it and check the information entered. The more accurate the information the more useful the database will be.
To help promote your movies I have added a couple of features. One is your very own Gallery which allows images to showcase your movie footage. The other is the ability to stream your movie from its current streaming website such as YouTube, BlipTV or Gamerzthearte. (If you have placed your movie elsewhere but allows website embedding then please email the details and I will add it to your entry).
I would like to thank all those that helped with the building of the website and the time they have spent in reviewing the information and passing comment on how to improve your surfing experience. A special big thank you to Montydan who has very kindly allowed this site to be hosted on his server. I would also like to say a big thank you to all of the IL2 community, especially the movie makers for producing some fantastic motion pictures in the comfort of their own homes. I hope the genre continues on for many years.

This site provides links to some of the best flight sim movies currentl. The site is managed by one of IL2's "top flight" movie makers Russell (Joe90) Boyd. Flight Sim Movies offers a different approach to IL2MDB in that it offers the best of movies released throughtout each year.

A special thanks to Monty Dan for providing the web space and resources to allow this site to live and breathe for the IL-2 community. Monty Dan has been involved with IL-2 since 2002. Initially as an online virtual pilot. He has excelled in providing a target for gunnery practice for many fighters, most of which have come off the worse for wear due to his ability to give his AI bomber gunners an easy shot! It wasn't long before movie making came into the mix and we had such shorts as "Dock of the Bay" and "Planes At War". During 2004 we were enticed into a more fantasy driven suspense with "Down Olga Bridge" and "V1". Who could have foreseen the spellbinding movies that followed...
Web Site Enhancements
Most things change and IL2MDB is no different. The site has been live for a few weeks and some of you may alreadybe well acustomed to using it. I've added and amended a few areas on the website to help you browse and find your way around. HEre are just some of those changes:
- Most Rated web page - This has now been corrected so the movies listed are in highest rated order.
- Wise Words Custom Quotes - A page has been added to allow visitors to leave a famous quote on the site. These quotes are displayed in the lower right hand corner.
- Movie Categories - Each movie entry has a number of tags associated with it. These tags have now been turned into a web address to help you find similar movies that may interest you.
